Every
celebration
has a story.
I'm Ranjani. I make small, detailed celebrations, write stories about the day to day with two kiddos, and turn it all into content reels.

Set the table, let them make a mess, then write it all down.
கதை
kathai
noun · story, told aloud
Katha is the word my grandmother used for the stories she told while cooking, not the polished kind, the kind with interruptions.
Katha Clicks is my version of that. A place where the story comes first and the celebration is how we hold it: birthdays, milestones, movie nights, ordinary Tuesdays that deserved a little more attention than they got. Culture isn't a theme here. It's just what's already on the table.
The first story is
still being written.
Nothing published yet, and that's on purpose. One honest essay beats four filler ones. Leave your email and you'll get the first one the day it lands.

Parties with
a point of view.
Birthdays that sound like the kid. Milestones that don't need a theme. Design that starts from a story, one detail, or a stubborn memory, then stops before it gets precious.
- First birthdays through the loud single digits.
- Naming days, house-warmings, half-sarees, ordinary wins.
- Tablescapes, paper, styling, and one good handmade thing.

Short videos,
made like
little stories.
Content creation is my specialty. I make unique content reels: short-form video that sounds like a real person made it, because one did. No stock footage, no script that reads like a script. Just the same story-first eye I bring to celebrations, pointed at a phone.
Some are for brands. Some are for the moms who follow along. All of them are the thing I'd be making anyway, just with a send button.

Just the house
we live in.
Tamil at the dinner table, Halloween in the driveway, kolam chalk next to sidewalk chalk. My kids will grow up thinking all of it is normal, because in this house it is.
Two at once, badly, on purpose.
Filter coffee and boxed mac. Same week.
Borrowed, adapted, sometimes invented.
Everyone's welcome at the potluck.
Ways we can make something together.
I take on a handful of projects at a time, because the alternative is doing them badly.
Celebrations
Concept, styling and story direction for birthdays and milestones. Full design or a second opinion.
Content & Reels
Unique content reels and photo sets made in a real Bay Area home, with real kids interrupting. The part I love most.
Brand partnerships
Long-form storytelling for brands mothers actually keep in the cupboard.
Community collabs
Co-hosted gatherings, venues, local makers, and anyone building something for moms.
RanjaniI started this because
nobody wrote the part
I needed to read.
There is plenty online about how to make a party look expensive. Very little about what it feels like to raise two Tamil kids in Northern California after growing up as a Tamil kid in South Jersey.
So I do both: I design celebrations for other families, and I write about ours. I'm not an event planner. I'm a mother with strong opinions about paper goods and a camera that's usually slightly out of focus.
One story, one celebration idea, zero life advice.
Or skip the list and just email me. That works better anyway.
